1. Log on Gateway with: ADMINISTRATOR; Press ENTER at password prompt
2. Check: MY COMPUTER icon
to see if your AFS space is loaded up
- If YES, continue below.
- If NO, go to START, then ALL PROGRAMS
Select AFS via SAMBA.exe
See a little icon in bottom right screen strip
Looks like H Drive
Click on small icon and see AFS prompt Box
Fill in your AFS ID and Password
Check to see if your AFS space is loaded on MY COMPUTER: Network Drives
Close MY COMPUTER
3. Place gel on scanner, without saran wrap. It reverses the picture so, to save time, place gel on scanner in the reverse direction, right to left, so you will not have to flip the image later.
4. Make sure it is square and level. Press START Button on Scanner front.
5. Presto Page Manager starts
up on screen.
Set up conditions: Doc Source: TPU POS Film
Image: 8bit Gray
Destination: OCR
Resolution: 300
Scale: 100%
6. Press PREVIEW to get small picture.
7. Left Click on Marquee square and draw a small, tight box around the image
8. Keep the contrast linear: Adjust only exposure, Dark/Light with tools
9. SAVE AS
File name in your AFS SPACE (or your desktop folder)
SAVE AS TYPE
TIFF .TIF selection for CANVAS or ADOBE work.
10. Be sure to check your file is in your AFS Space on the Apple G4 as .tif file. Delete extra copies when you are sure the scan looks OK.
