The Clarinets (2006) |
The Notre Dame clarinet section is composed of 58 students whose interests encompass every major area of study and whose backrounds range from sea to sea. Yet while it is our diversity that makes us unique, it is our mutual love of music and of each other's company that make us one of a kind.
Always surrounded with much anticipation
is our Annual 'Net SYR, a great night for all clarinets and their dates. Our
social chairs always and without fail do a wonderful of putting the night
together and making it fun for all in attendance.

The 2002 team |
Worthy of mention is the very popular 'Net Section Football team which challenges the other band sections each fall in games filled with fun and fierce competition. We're hoping to come back this year from a few years of less than amazing performance. With so many guys in the section this year, the other sections should watch out! For spectators and players alike these are a good time for all.
Another of our older traditions that has not been done for quite some time is the 'Net tape/CD. We've recorded the favorite songs of the nets on tape until 1998. Since then we've put our favorite net songs on CD. Perhaps we will bring it back this year.

And of course, who would the 'Nets be without the ever popular, and incredibly tasty Fourth Quarter Candy?
While we always like to see new faces, sadly we can never accept everyone. Membership in the section and in the band is decided by both a playing and marching audition which take place in the fall (usually one week) prior to the start of classes. If you are interested in trying out for the band and joining our great section (and we'd love to have you) click here, for more info. You'll find all this and more at the ND Band website.
