Dear Dr. Hadley

I understand you provide expert medical testimony for court cases. I would like to engage Dr. Hadley's services on behalf of the prosecution and Dr. Stuart's on behalf of the defense in a lead poisoning case in Federal court. The issues under question will include whether the victim has really suffered any harm, whether the cause of the harm was lead, and whether the victim was exposed to lead as a result of the negligence of the defendant. You will be responsible for uncovering relevant medical evidence, briefing the prosecution team, and giving your sworn testimony in court during the week of Nov. 3.

You will find the CDC a very useful starting point, and I expect you will uncover two or three relevant medical studies using Lexis/Nexis or Medline. I would be happy to talk these over with you, as I have some previous experience in interpreting medical studies.

In addition to your work preparing and presenting the case, I would like to receive a joint report from you both; I would like to include this report in a law review article I am writing. The report should be neutral in tone, ~3 pages long, and should discuss the medical issues which were raised in the trial.
