FACULTY POSITIONS IN STRUCTURAL /GEOTECHNICAL/MATERIALS ENGINEERING

The Department of Civil Engineering and Geological Sciences at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions to complement the existing structures faculty in the following areas: (1) Structural/Materials Engineering; and (2) Structural/Geotechnical Engineering. Applicants should have an earned doctorate in civil/structural/geotechnical/materials engineering or a related field. For the structural/materials engineering position, we are particularly interested in applicants with a research focus on, but not limited to, the development, performance assessment, and implementation of innovative civil engineering materials, components, and systems to civil infrastructure. For the structural/geotechnical engineering position, applicants with an interest in problems that involve civil infrastructure systems including the foundation are encouraged to apply. Candidates for the two positions should be qualified to teach civil engineering materials courses and geotechnical engineering courses, respectively, and should have a strong commitment to teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Each successful faculty candidate will develop and sustain an externally funded research program and publish in leading scholarly journals. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered with hiring rank and tenure status commensurate with academic accomplishments.
