Community Alliance to Serve Hispanics

The Community Alliance to Serve Hispanics, C.A.S.H., is a service and social action club that pairs ND/SMC students with opportunities to perform community service in the Hispanic community in South Bend. In this upcoming year, we are also looking to focus on building a better understanding of the situational needs of the Hispanic community through lectures, discussions, etc. Although Spanish language skills are often utilized during service hours in the Hispanic community, there are positions available for ALL levels of proficiency. For those of you who would like to continue to practice your Spanish outside of the classroom and to have a "hands on" experience working with hispanohablantes, this is a wonderful opportunity. At the same time, it is not only a language experience but a cultural experience as well because you contribute to organizations that are serving the Hispanic community right here in South Bend. While a big commitment is not necessary, C.A.S.H members are encouraged to make a weekly commitment to a service location.
