Ashley (Alley) Gant agant@nd.edu They call her Alley, and she is a senior majoring in psychology. Alley is an air force brat that has spent over half of her life overseas on US military bases. Among other things, she enjoys sleeping, psychology, dogs, art, and (of course!) the Family Communication Project! This is the third psychology lab she has worked with and it already holds a special place in her heart. Alley finds taking such an active role in coaching families to be both challenging and rewarding, and she is loving every moment. In addition to being a research assistant, she's also worked as a camp counselor and mentor/tutor for students at the South Bend Juvenile Correctional Facility. Alley hopes that her experiences will help guide her to a future career in either therapy or criminology with the FBI. |

Deanna Munoz dmunoz3@nd.edu Deanna was born and raised in Highland, Indiana, but has spent her last 3 years at Notre Dame. She is junior Psychology major with a possible Gender Studies minor. New to being a Research Assistant for the Me and My Family Project, she is quickly learning what it means to be a psychologist and loving every minute of it, thanks to all of her coworkers. In the future, she hopes to move to her future home state of California. There, she will attend graduate school for a Masters in Counseling Psychology, a degree with which she hopes to land a job working with students in a university setting (Notre Dame, perhaps?). In her spare time, Deanna likes watching sports, especially Notre Dame football and basketball. She also loves playing volleyball, working out, and just having a good time with friends. Go Irish!

Annette Ruth erin.marie.richardson@gmail.com Hailing from Northwest Indiana, Annette is a junior Biology and Psychology dual-degree candidate here at Notre Dame. Interested in neurology from a young age and more recently inspired by her Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) program work with autistic children in the South Bend area, Annette dedicates much of her time to literary research in the field of neurobiology, specifically pertaining to the potential causes of neurological dysfunction in pervasive developmental disorders such as autism. The results of her research were published in the 2009 Journal of undergraduate Research. She will spend her next four semesters working on laboratory research in neuroendocrinology to augment her understanding of various hormones and external neurochemicals, their impact on neural development, and the resulting behavioral differences they produce. Annette has lived in the Chicago L'Arche community this past winter, and from December 2009 through January 2010, she will work with children who have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities in the Center for Integral Development in Ecuador. Annette ultimately wishes to earn an MD-PhD in pediatric neurology and to continue conducting advanced neurobiological research in autism. |
