Training Sessions
To familiarize you with the Fiscal 2012 Budget Process and Tools, the Office of Budget and Financial Planning and Human Resources will jointly be conducting integrated training courses titled Budget Training FY11-12. These training courses will encompass the Budget Process, Salary Planner tool (for setting salaries), and the Finance Budget Development tool (for unrestricted non-labor budgeting).
How do you schedule a training session?
- Contact Logan Anderson in the Budget Office at 1-7132 or budget@nd.edu to schedule a session.
- Training sessions can be scheduled starting the week of March 14th.
- Training sessions will be approximately 2 hours.
Who should attend this training?
- Individuals who set faculty and/or staff salaries funded from either restricted or unrestricted sources
- Individuals who manage unrestricted budgets
After completing this training, you will be able to:
- Understand the Fiscal 2012 Budget Process and Timeline
- Understand and apply merit guidelines to individual staff positions and jobs*
- Input staff and faculty salaries and position budgets in the Salary Planner tool (restricted and unrestricted funded)
- Input non-salary budgets in the Finance Budget Development tool for operating budget units (unrestricted funded only)
- Use the new Salary Planner and Finance Budget Development downloads and queries
- Balance budget submission to allocation through the new Finance Budget Development tool (unrestricted funded only)
In addition to this integrated training course, Human Resources will be providing one-hour training sessions for those individuals who have access to just the Salary Planner function. This Salary Planner Overview Training will provide a refresher course to those that wish to attend. Please contact HR (631-5900) to schedule these courses.
