Rocknes

Rocknes are a vital part of winning Hall of the Year! To sum it up, Rocknes are detailed descriptions of events, both big and small, that BP organized, attended, or in which it participated. These events can range from events as "small" as Section dinners or participation in the Keough Chariot Race to larger events such as our Meal Auction or Beach Week dance. Below are guidelines for Rocknes.

What to Have:

  1. Title of Event
  2. Date of Event
  3. Location of Event
  4. Description of Event
***this description should be very detailed. one paragraph is the minimum***
  5. Number of People Attended
  6. Pictures--A MUST!!!

How to Present a Rockne:

  1. Make sure all information is written down (see above)
  2. Format information into paragraphs, preferably in a word processor
  3. Use PowerPoint or a similar program to make a Rockne with a colorful background, photos, and a detailed description

Rocknes will be submitted to Historian (Tara Duffy) for compilation. Questions about Rocknes can be submitted to VPs of Projects and Programming Mary-Beth Lee and KiKi Gelke, President Katie Kelliher, or Tara Duffy.

EVERY month we need Rocknes for Athletics, Academics, Liturgical, Service, Multicultural, Social, Environmental, and In Hall events.

If you've never made a Rockne before, or just need a little refresher on how it's done, check out the examples below! Both were made in PowerPoint and then saved as jpeg files.

One further note. If there is an event you are planning, and you are for whatever reason unable to get pictures, email me, Christina McDonnell (cmcdonne@nd.edu), and I will be happy to find someone to take pictures.

Event recaps

Every Hall Council member in charge of an event will need to write a short recap of their event to be given to next year's hall president. The recaps will include information such as how much food was consumed, what types of activities were featured, the overall success of the event, and other information that would be useful for next year's commissioners. Recaps are to be submitted to Tara Duffy (tduffy@nd.edu). Check out the examples below for ideas.
