ME 470: Senior Design Project

The Fall 1997 offering of ME470 represented a transition in format and approach from previous course offerings. The course was presented as a team-based, product-focused design-build exercise. The students were organized into small design build teams and each was responsible for the concept definition, design, fabrication and testing of an autonomous robotic system. Comments regarding this course are encouraged and can be directed via email to the instructors listed below.
Each design team was responsible for developing a web page to present their efforts. The following are links to these sites.
The Critical Design Reveiw was conducted on Tuesday, November 11, 1997. The
Industrial Review Panel was composed of:

Each group reported the following total of out-sourced and fabricated parts for their vehicles.

- Group 4:Dukes of Hazardous Waste, 125 parts
- Group 5:Mad About Design, 261 parts

Demonstration and testing of the concepts were performed on December 5, 1997 in the Loftus Center. The following pictures illustrate some of the concepts.
