This page will always be under "construction" and it contains information related to my teaching and research activities.

During the Fall 2009 semester I will be teaching:

AME30362, Design Methodology

During Spring 2010 I will be co-teaching with Prof. James Schmiedeler

AME40463 Senior Design Project  - this site contains documents describing aspects of the course and project.

You can access information on these courses, via the links and if you have questions related to these courses, contact me.

Teaching Activities:

I have been fortunate to be able to be involved in a number of different courses during my time at Notre Dame. For those interested in looking at some activities in the Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering capstone design courses, the following links provide information on some of those courses as well as project descriptions and student projects for both the AE and ME capstone design projects. Note that the course numbers on all courses at Notre Dame changed during the summer of 2005 and some of the links use the “old” course numbers.

AME40463, Senior Design Project - Fall 2006

ME470: Mechanical Engineering Senior Design Project (AME40463 - these links are some “older” offerings of this course)

AE441: Aerospace Systems Design (now AME40462)

AE440: Flight Mechanics and Introduction to Design (now AME40461)

AE370: Manufacturing and Assembly for Aerospace Systems (no longer an active course)

AME446: Finite Elements in Structural Analysis (now AME50541)

Recent Publications:

The following publications are primarily related to my research in multidisciplinary design and design education. Some can be downloaded and these are primarily conference proceedings. Copies of other papers or those not available in digital form may be available if you contact me directly. I am sorry for not "updating" this list - since the summer of 2000. That is when I began to be involved in "administrative activities" and that has hampered my ability to do things like update web sites and link to papers. If there are particular, more recent, papers that you are interested in, please contact me.

Engineering Decision Making Using a Multidisciplinary Design Paradigm,"

2000 ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition, St. Louis, Missouri, June, 2000.
