Which textbook should I buy? |
|
The textbook for my sections of Principles of Microeconomics is Principles of Economics by N. Gregory Mankiw. The fourth edition of the book came out this year, and this is the version the ND bookstore will stock. However, the fourth edition is very similar to the third, which in turn is very similar to the second edition. You will be responsible for all material covered in class, which will draw heavily from the text. I believe that the second, third and fourth editions all provide enough background information to help you excel in the class. I suggest you purchase whichever edition best meets the conflicting needs of low price and high correlation to coursework for you. A copy of the most current edition will be on reserve at Hesburgh Library. You can always doublecheck your version against the most current one on reserve. A note to freshmen: I am not going to tell you that you absolutely must purchase one edition or the other, nor will I tell you that you must purchase the book from a particular source. These are decisions you must make for yourself. Welcome to college! |
