The Office of Academic Services for Student-Athletes offers personal and academic support to student-athletes participating in the University's highly competitive and visible education and athletic programs. As an academic unit dedicated to the ideals of excellence and independent thinking, the office provides an array of services - counseling, guidance, mentoring, and tutoring - in an effort to teach "those disciplined habits of mind, body, and spirit that characterize educated, skilled, and free human beings."* As an advocate for student-athletes, the office works in concert with other departments to ensure that student-athletes have the opportunity and are encouraged to pursue fully the diverse academic, cultural, and spiritual riches of the University. *Statement of Principles for Intercollegiate Athletics (June 2001) |
