A Message from President Johnny Leitner

Welcome to the official and inimitable homepage of the Notre Dame Anime Club! Whether you’ve come to satisfy your yearning for information about the ND anime community or just happened to stumble upon this by accident, please peruse! Our club hosts weekly anime viewings in the Hesburgh Library Auditorium (see schedule), and all undergraduate and graduate students at Notre Dame are heartily encouraged to attend. The Notre Dame Anime Club that we know and love today can trace its origins to the academic campaign of 2000-2001, when a few lonely freshmen confined to 213 Zahm Hall experienced a moment of enlightenment. Out of the bleary days and desolate nights of an unforgiving South Bend winter emerged an idea... to found a campus anime club. (Admittedly, this is the only worthwhile thought experienced by the individuals in question before or since). After a year of lively discussion, intense strategy sessions, and constitution drafts aplenty, the anime club became a SAO-approved reality. I am happy to say that we have again assembled a superb anime officer corps for this the second full year of the club’s existence. Our club anime collection is small at the moment, but our passion is great. We exist to provide a forum for anime fans to network, for those untouched by the light of anime to be so touched... first and foremost, to watch anime the way that nature intended-on a big screen with surround sound! Please feel welcome as a part of our club. All, be they otaku or novice, are encouraged to come to viewings to partake of the glory that is anime. If you have any ideas for this club, please do not hesitate to contact us at anime@nd.edu. And remember, it’s all about the anime! Ja mata!
