Your proposal will be judged on content and overall presentation.
Include in your proposal:
o What is the research you are doing?
o Why is this research important?
o What pitfalls you have encountered?
o How have you overcome the pitfalls?
o What are the results that you have gotten so far?
o How do these results compare to others?
o What future work is still necessary?
Ensure that you have not included any proprietary information.
Your proposal should be approximately 500 to 1000 words.
Check your proposal for grammatical correctness and typographical errors.
Include your name, your advisor's name, and your funding sources as well as any additional people you would like to recognize.
Include in your proposal at least three but no more than four graphics using the <img> tag given in the format including:
o Your picture (with or without your experiment the background),
o The set up of your research, and
o Plot of results.
Use these as guidelines if your experiment doesn't fit these recommendations.
Make sure the graphics are not too big (JPEG, GIF or PNG files no bigger than 100 KB), and resize your graphics to fit into a section that is 700 pixels wide.
Refer to the graphics in the text.
Provide us with alternate text for each graphic.
Include any relevant links if you wish with the <a> tag. Include a summary of the relevent information from the link in your proposal and don't let your proposal become all links.
Submit your proposal by email to the GSDO; attach the html plus all graphic files to your email.
We will only consider one proposal per grad student. If you submit more than one, we will only consider the most recent proposal.
If you are not selected as the highlighted researcher, your application will roll over to subsequent selections, until you are selected, specify the submission is outdated, graduate, or submit an updated proposal.
