Testing Laboratory
The Mechanical Testing Laboratory is co-directed by Glen L. Niebur
and Ryan K. Roeder and located in 990 square feet of space. Major
equipment includes a Bose ELectroForce 3300 electromagnetic test
instrument with biaxial loading to a capacity of 4400 N/28 N-m; an
Instron 8821 servo-hydraulic biaxial load frame with an Instron model
8800 controller; an MTS servo-hydraulic load frame; and one screw-driven
testing machine. Computerized data acquisition is available for all
systems. The lab maintains a comprehensive collection of fixtures
and load cells. A full time technician is available to provide support
for experimental setup, data acquisition and maintenance.
