During the last week of the fall semester, we had an undergraduate research
conference with about 30 student presentations. It was run as much as possible
along the lines of a professional meeting. The objectives of this conference
are to enable students to get more experience in presentation skills and to
publicize their work. I think it was successful on both counts.
There will be a similar conference at the end of this semester, and Dr. Bill
Goodwine will again be the organizer. Students registered for AME499 Undergraduate
Research are required to make a presentation, while those AME students doing
research for pay are invited and strongly urged to present. Of course everyone
is invited to attend.
We will contact you about this again when the time comes. The present message
is merely to alert you of the fact now so that you will be ready.
