Re: Graduate School

If you are considering graduate school, now is the time to start getting
organized. If you are a senior, you need to start considering the
application process, preparing for and taking the GRE's, selecting the
right school and program, etc. If you are a junior, now is the time to
start considering the general area in which you may be interested and to
determine how to optimize the rest of your program in AME so that you
take the right sequence of courses, possibly find an undergraduate
research opportunity, possibly write an undergraduate thesis, etc., all
or some of which may best prepare you for graduate school and maximize
the probability of you being accepted by the programs of your choice.
In either case, if you are thinking about graduate school, I would
encourage you to talk to your adviser and/or me to discuss your plans.
If you are unsure, but are maybe considering graduate school, I would
likewise encourage you to talk to your adviser and/or me. An
alternative resource would be the graduate students in our department
who you certainly see around a lot and probably have for TA's in your
courses.
