International Study Opportunities

The procedure to study abroad is as follows:

  1. Apply through the International Studies Office.
  2. Complete the AME Department International Study Proposed Course Plan form.
    NOTE: This form is an AME Department form only and is the means by which the AME Director of Undergraduate Studies will know that you are applying to study abroad. Bring the completed form with you when you meet with the Director of Undergraduate Studies. The deadline for completing the AME form is generally one week prior to the International Studies Department deadline.

  3. Meet with AME Director of Undergraduate Studies to discuss proposed plan and have it approved. Once the Director of Undergraduate Studies has approved the proposed plan, he will enter the online approval through the international studies web site sending the plan to the Director of Academic Affairs for final approval
  4. Director of Academic Affairs for Engineering to enters final approval of plan of study.

NOTE: Sometimes it may not be possible to find a course at a given university abroad exactly equivalent to one offered on campus. In this case, and at the discretion of the Director of Undergraduate Studies, students may be required, upon return, to take zero-credit self-study courses to compensate for the optics not covered abroad.
