In this window, you will specify the printer that you wish to use by typing it into the “Printer Name or IP Address” field. All printers follow the model of the graphic shown here for the fourth floor of Malloy Hall. Enter the building name and floor number, and then .alprinters.nd.edu in all lower case letters.

So, for example, room 311 Decio would usedecio3.alprinters.nd.edu. Room 416 Malloy would use malloy4.alprinters.nd.edu.

Flanner is slightly different. You do the same thing, except you substitute flannerfor the alprinters part of the address.

The second field, Port Name will automatically fill out as you type the Printer name. Click next.

The printer for the basement of Malloy Hall ismalloy0.alprinters.nd.edu. This is a Zero. The name for the Philosophy Graduate Lab in the basement of Malloy Hall is b007.philosophy.nd.edu. The printer name for the Theology Graduate Lab in the basement of Malloy Hall is b038.theology.nd.edu.

Step 9:

Next, select the model of HP printer you will be using. The following list shows the models in our buildings:

Decio & Flanner – HP LaserJet 4200

Malloy – HP LaserJet 4250

The manufacturers are listed in the left frame. Scroll down to and highlight HP. The models are then listed in the right frame, most often, alphabetically. Scroll down to the desired model and highlight it. Then, click on the Next button.

Step 12:

Now you will see the default printer name as it was selected from the printer list in the last step. Highlight it, then type in the building name and floor. This is simply a label for the printer, so you can distinguish it from others that you may have easily.
