Connecting to the ALCO Server on Mac OS X

Q: How do I connect to the ALCO Server?

A: New ALCO Server -- smb://al.corpfs.nd.edu/Data/

Q: Isn't there a way to have the ALCO Server mount automatically?

A: Yes, there is. You can download and install MountALCOServer.dmg to have the ALCO Server automatically mount when you login.
NOTE: This works only with OS 10.5 and only with machines that are bound to the Active Directory domain. Please read the READ ME file for more information.

Q: What is the ALCO Server?

A: The ALCO server is network-based storage space dedicated to hold the College and Departmental business.

Q: Who should have access to the ALCO Server?

A: Departmental staff, which could include Department Chairs, Director of Graduate Studies, Director of Undergraduate Studies, Administrative Assistants, and Student Departmental Staff

Q: How do I control access to our departmental space on the ALCO Server?

A: Access to the ALCO Server is administered by ALCO Technical Staff. Please contact us for further information.

Q: What should be stored on the ALCO Server?

A: College and Departmental business

Q: What should NOT be stored on the ALCO Server?
