Departmental and College Lists

Individual owners of a list are responsible for subscriptions and for managing list content.
ALCO makes recommendations on how to configure and manage list culture.
ALCO manages configuration for these lists and automated subscription where possible.
If you need to change OWNERS or EDITORS of your list, send email to: Steven Bohlson

Departmental lists are created at the request of the Dean.

Who can send to a departmental list?
- Dean’s Office
- Department Chair
- Anyone else the department selects as an editor
ALCO manages the list configuration
- Contact ALCO if the chair changes or if you need to add or delete editors
Department maintains subscription
- Departmental lists should contain only regular faculty members (not adjuncts, visiting faculty, emeriti, staff, etc.).
Each department needs someone who is designated to maintain this list.

ALCO manages configuration for college and departmental lists designatated by the Dean’s office.

Purpose:	Dean’s Office communication with faculty
Subscription:	Created from data in Arts & Letters database and refreshed periodically Mandatory subscription consisting of all Arts & Letters faculty members
Messages:	Can only be sent by list editors, all others returned to sender

Purpose:	Notification of Arts & Letters faculty events (lectures, concerts, etc)
Subscription:	Consists of members of ALFAC-L, you can unsubscribe yourself Voluntary subscription consisting of all Arts & Letters faculty members
Messages:	Sent to list editors for approval

Purpose:	Open discussion between Arts & Letters faculty
Subscription:	Open to Arts & Letters faculty; voluntary; you must subscribe yourself
Messages:	Anyone who is a member can freely send messages.

Purpose:	ALCO communication with the Arts & Letters faculty regarding computing
Subscription:	Consists of members of ALFAC-L Mandatory subscription consisting of all Arts & Letters faculty members
Messages:	Can only be sent by list editors, all others returned to sender

Purpose:	Dean’s Office & ALCO communication with administrative staff
Subscription:	Maintained by the Dean’s Office Mandatory subscription consisting of all Arts & Letters admin staff
Messages:	Can only be sent by list editors, all others returned to sender

Purpose:	Open discussion between Arts & Letters administrative staff
Subscription:	Open to Arts & Letters admin staff; voluntary; you must subscribe yourself
Messages:	Anyone who is a member can freely send messages

AL-COLC	College Council members
ALADMIN	Chairs, Assistant Chairs, Directors, and Assistant Directors
ALADMIN-ASST	Administrative Assistants for Chairs, Assistant Chairs, Directors, and Assistant Directors
AL-CHAIRS	Department Chairs
AL-CHAIRS-ASST	Department Chairs’ Administrative Assistants
