The Great Pond Adventure

Phase 3

After we got the hole dug, things started to move along faster. Or maybe it just seemed that way.

Here's Megan smoothing out the underlayment. It was over 90 degrees the day we did this, of course.
Once the underlayment was done, we put the liner on top. Our liner was in two pieces due to the shape of the pond. Turns out, given the available widths the liner came in, we should have done it in one piece. I'm not sure we could have lifted it though. This stuff is really heavy.
The liner in place, we're starting to fill with water. That's Brian off to the left.
Here I am in a picture finally! I'm cleaning the area where the seam will go. We've heard some people question whether seams hold, but ours seems fine.
The seam tape down, we're filling it up. The dogs were not sure what we were doing.

Once it was pretty much filled, we started putting rocks in. Actually, given the temperature, it was just an excuse to play in the water.
Here's Kelsey supervising. Boy, that liner was hot where it was in the sun!
Feet in the water, we knew how to stay cool!

Things are shaping up! We even started to get visitors. Pondering if you want to see more?
