GOAL OF COURSE

The aim of this course is to reflect on and evaluate various philosophers’ views on the arts.  To achieve this end we will use not only standard philosophical analysis and arguments but also experience of actual artistic works, ranging from live theatre and dance performances to poetry and art on exhibit in local galleries.

Our discussions typically will refer to both the philosophical readings and the artworks.
