The Task Force on Communicating the Directions and Goals of the University
Libraries met on February 7th at 1:00 p.m..
II. Reports on elements of the strategic planning process
2. no evidence of formal analysis within the Libraries but certainly inherent in various statements
3. Example: copyright laws
b. philosophy states principles and values of an organization
c. vision explains what are we able to do
3. characteristics of a vision statement: bold, daring, vivid, people oriented, written in present tense, identifies benefits vs. features, people can associate with it
2. Apparent in Challenges & Directions statements
B. Communicate Results.
A. The group reviewed the charged as outlined below and checked off completed tasks (shown in red)

d. organize them into those categories
e. identify areas of interest represented
