John A. Sejdinaj

Vice President for Finance


John A. Sejdinaj is the vice president for finance at the University of Notre Dame. His responsibilities include managing the offices of budget and planning, student financial services and the controller's group.

From 1999-2002, Mr. Sejdinaj was the University's assistant vice president for finance and director of budget and planning. He previously served from 1996-1999 as director of finance and budgeting at Notre Dame. Under Mr. Sejdinaj's leadership as the initial director of the budget office, the office modernized budget models and processes and has evolved into a service team that assists virtually all academic and administrative units on budgeting and other financial planning issues. Mr. Sejdinaj has made further contributions in areas such as capital planning, banking relationships, cash management and debt financings. He joined the Notre Dame staff in 1994 as director of fixed income and cash management in the investment office.

Mr. Sejdinaj has been involved with numerous committees since he joined the University, including Officers' Budget Committee, Budget Working Group, Capital Planning Subcommittee, University Campus and Capital Planning Committee, Gender Equity Task Force, Cash Management Committee, Robinson Learning Center Oversight Committee, Notre Dame Utilities Strategic Planning Committee and Project Renovare Subcommittee.

Mr. Sejdinaj earned a bachelor's degree from Notre Dame in 1981 and a master of business administration degree from DePaul University in 1984 and is a certified cash manager. Prior to returning to Notre Dame in 1994, Mr. Sejdinaj enjoyed a successful career in the banking and investment banking fields with affiliates of First Chicago Corporation.

Mr. Sejdinaj's wife, Jeny, is a 1982 Notre Dame graduate and is involved with the University's Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) program.

The Sejdinajs are the parents of one son, Alex.
