Institute for Asia and Asian Studies: The Institute for Asia and Asian Studies, funded through a gift from the RM Liu Foundation, is dedicated to the study and understanding of the role and impact that Asia has throughout the world. The core pursuits of the institute will be to provide an unsurpassed education in Asian Studies, not only instructing students with regard to Asia but also preparing them for leadership roles in a changing global landscape; to contribute to a better understanding of particular economic, political, social, cultural, ethical, and religious issues facing Asia through collaborative and multidisciplinary research and scholarship; to develop Asia-focused initiatives that build upon Notre Dame's signature strengths and solidify Notre Dame's reputation as the world's premier Catholic research university by developing a strong and visible institutional presence in Asia.

Kellogg Institute for International Studies: With a thematic focus on democracy and human development, the Kellogg Institute promotes international research by attracting faculty, students, and visitors to the University of Notre Dame and providing them with a supportive community of multidisciplinary scholarship and cross-cultural dialogue. A major nexus for activity on international themes at Notre Dame, the Kellogg Institute brings together a range of voices and viewpoints to examine some of the most urgent challenges facing the world today.
Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies: The Keough-Naughton Institute is devoted to teaching and researching Irish culture. Its faculty now include leaders in literature, history, film, television, and theater. Its goal is to expand to include other areas, including musicology, sociology, law, politics, and government.
Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies: Notre Dame's Kroc Institute is one of the world’s principal centers for the study of the causes of violent conflict and strategies for sustainable peace. Faculty conduct research on war, genocide, terrorism, ethnic and religious conflict, and human rights violations; contribute to on-the-ground peacebuilding worldwide; and teach students earning degrees in peace studies.
Nanovic Institute for European Studies: With more than one hundred affiliated faculty fellows in a broad range of disciplines, a full suite of grant programs for student research, a prestigious set of on-campus events, and a growing international community of visiting scholars and professionals, the Nanovic Institute represents a comprehensive foundation for European studies at Notre Dame. Its goal is to produce and promote knowledge about issues that transcend a focus on any single country: issues of European unification, changes in social and political geography, tensions from the movement of peoples, and the dynamics between religion and secularity. The Institute does this while keeping students and their benefit at the center of its activities.
Global Linkages of Biology, the Environment, and Society (GLOBES): The University of Notre Dame’s new Ph.D. training program in GLOBES offers real hope for the future. Funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation, GLOBES brings together biologists, environmental and social scientists, public policy experts, lawyers, and religious and community leaders. Together they seek innovative and interdisciplinary solutions to a variety of connected problems in environmental and human health.
