DEPRESSION IS THE # 1 REASON WHY STUDENTS COME TO THE COUNSELING CENTER. EVERYONE FEELS “BLUE” AT CERTAIN TIMES, AND THESE FEELINGS ARE NORMAL. BUT IF THE PERSON CAN’T “SNAP OUT OF IT” WITHIN TWO WEEKS THEN THEY MIGHT BE SUFFERING FROM DEPRESSION. DEPRESS
UNFORTUNATELY, MANY FAIL TO RECOGNIZE DEPRESSION AND INSTEAD ATTRIBUTE THE SYMPTOMS TO “THE FLU,” “STRESS,” OR TO LACK OF SLEEP OR IMPROPER EATING. BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE OVERALL PATTERN OF SYMPTOMS, YOU CAN RECOGNIZE IT AND RECOMMEND GETTING HELP.
