Notes:
1. Gender - The risk is higher if the student is male or a first year female
2. Symptoms - If the person is showing physical symptoms of depression and feelings of great despair.
3. Stress - From exams, pressure from parents, pressure to be admitted into graduate school, anniversaries, just before/during disciplinary...
4. Suicide Plan - If the plan is more detailed, especially if the person has access to a means (gun, drugs) and when method is highly lethal.
5. Past History - If attempted suicide previously, or if a family member or significant other has committed suicide.
6. Available Support - If the person is a loner, has no close family or friends, or experiences family as rejecting or punitive.If the person has no outlets for communication with others about his or her problems.
7. Medical Condition - If the person has a severe medical illness or addiction.
8. Spiritual Crisis - If the person feels he or she can no longer pray.
10. Sudden Change in Behavior - If the person experiences a sudden unexplained improvement or peacefulness.
11. Psychosis - 200 fold increase over student baselines
12. Contact with Campus Mental Health Center - 6 x increase
