Research Focus
Dr. Buechler’s research interests focus on areas of mathematical logic, bioinformatics, and modeling of biological systems. In mathematical logic he has a well-established program in model theory. His current research activities in bioinformatics include the analysis of microarray data and the discovery of biological processes facilitated by microarrays. A key aspect of his work is the integration of the growing databases of pathways and functional genomics, along with biostatistics and network theory. Dr. Buechler is also interested in modeling transcription regulation and signal transduction.
