There is a limited amount of money available for students who need to register for up to three (3) credits in a summer session
 lecture course or up to one (1) credit in an independent study course.

Graduate students are not required to register for credit in the summer session in order to have access to University facilities
and services, as long as they are enrolled for the spring term and plan to return in the fall.  However, students who plan on
graduating in August must register for at least one (1) credit hour in the summer session.  Also, some students will need to
register for one or more credits to meet student loan requirements. Tuition will not be approved for PhD-seeking students
whose sole intent is to obtain a Master’s degree in August. 

Applicants must be full-time students who are eligible for Graduate School funding.  Eligibility criteria include a graduate
GPA of 3.0 or higher, an approved dissertation proposal if enrolled for more than eight semesters, and graduate enrollment
less than 16 semesters.

Students currently enrolled in the Graduate School must return this form to their academic department by March 31,
2008.   Support will consist of a maximum of $1,044 for three credit hours.  The summer session General Fee ($50) is
the responsibility of the student.  Students who do not apply by March 31 run the risk of not receiving the support
they need.
