Property Insurance

 

BUILDINGS, PERSONAL PROPERTY AND FINE ARTS COVERAGE

The University maintains property insurance for University owned buildings, personal property and fine arts whether on or off-campus. Coverage includes, but is not limited to, fire, wind, hail, vandalism, explosion, theft and smoke. Departments are responsible for the first $5000 of each loss.

This section provides basic coverage information regarding the University's property insurance coverage. It should not be relied on for policy interpretation. Any specific questions should be referred to Robert M. Zerr, Director, or Barbara Davey, Risk Management Specialist, of the Risk Management and Safety Department, (574) 631-5037.

CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE

When verification of insurance coverage is required, certificates of insurance can be obtained through Risk Management & Safety by calling (574) 631-5037. A completed request form can be faxed to (574) 631-8794 or sent via e-mail to Davey.1@nd.edu.

TRAVEL ACCIDENT COVERAGE

The University provides $200,000 coverage for faculty and staff in the event of accidental death or up to $200,000 for dismemberment resulting from injuries you sustain while traveling on University business. Your spouse is eligible for $100,000 coverage in the event of accidental death or up to $100,000 for dismemberment resulting from injuries sustained if traveling with you on University business.
