STEP 1: Where and when do you want to go abroad?

  • Refer to our location pages for information on classes, language, housing, and program prerequisites.
  • Complete our "Which Programs are Right for Me?" questionnaire to better understand the many different aspects of choosing a study abroad program.
  • Talk to returnee students about their experience abroad
  • Apply to more than one program - all programs have a limited number of spots and some programs are more competitive than others

STEP 2: Make an informed decision!

  • Attend information sessions in the fall semester
  • Stop by our offices in the Hurley Building to talk to our program directors.
  • Consult with your academic/major advisor to determine how courses taken abroad will fit into your ND curriculum.
  • A strong application reflects knowledge of the program and specific examples of why it is a good match (academically, culturally, personally) for the student.

STEP 3: Complete the on-line application
Once you've decided on the program(s) that is right for you, proceed to the instructions for applying to an International Study Program. There are multiple parts to an ISP application -- all of which must be submitted before the Selection Committee can evaluate a candidate's application.

STEP 4: Remember the program deadlines!
