Eucharistic procession revived

Photo of processionAn estimated 250 students and other members of the campus and local communities revived a tradition on the Notre Dame campus with a Eucharistic Procession April 16,2005. Once a yearly event, Eucharistic processions through campus fell out of practice in the years following the Second Vatican Council. The tradition's revival reflects a renewed interest in classical devotions to the Sacrament of the Eucharist among Notre Dame students. A half-dozen student groups helped organize the event, which also recognized cultural diversity through benedictions and altar decorations reflecting Filipino, European and Latino customs.
