The
autobiography of a Domincan priest who has witnessed vast changes
in the church and society. His travels took him to Germany, Italy
and France, where, he writes, "I would learn not only ideas,
the philosophy and theologies of Christianity past and present,
but also come to see that buildings and statues can depict a time
and that the arts express the message of Christ in various styles
of color and line."
Father O'Meara is a Notre Dame emeritus professor of theology.
