What's the latest on the four former Notre Dame football
players charged with rape?
The four -- Justin Smith '01, Donald Dykes, Lorenzo Crawford
and Abram Elam -- face a variety of charges in connection with
a fellow student's accusation that they raped her at the off-campus
home of one of the players last spring.
Elam's trial is set to begin February 24, 2003, Crawford's March
10 and Smith's March 31, 2003. A hearing was scheduled for January
to determine Dyke's trial date.
