"Love Thee Notre Dame," The Band's 2007 Season DVD Now Available!
The
Notre Dame Band is proud to announce the release of its 2007 season CD and
DVD, both entitled, Love Thee Notre Dame. These recordings feature
sights and sounds from all 10 band performances this season,
beginning
with favorites like September and Take on Me, to the all-time favorite USA
show featuring ROCK in the USA and American Pie. Once again this season, the
band performed the music of Chicago including Saturday in the Park and Beginnings.
The band continued their historic season with the music of the Jersey Boys.
No marching band season can be complete without music from a major motion picture;
this season the Band of the Fighting Irish performed music from the movie Top
Gun. You'll also see and hear all the
traditional Notre Dame favorites including Hike Notre Dame, Down the Line,
and of course, the greatest of all University fight songs, The Notre Dame Victory

Notre Dame Band Celebrates 100th Anniversary of the Victory March With Release of New CD
Celebrating the centennial of the Notre Dame Victory March, the University of Notre Dame Band has assembled this classic collection featuring the "Greatest of all Fight Songs." On this CD you will hear the traditional version performed by the Band of the Fighting Irish at every home football game, as well as the rendition played by the Concert Band to conclude every program of Notre Dame Band music on campus and in tours around the world.
The CD also includes the original version composed in 1908 by Notre Dame graduates Father Michael Shea and his brother John, performed on the organ much as Father Michael first played the new song. This CD also features historic recordings of bands under the direction of Joseph Casasanta, H. Lee Hope, Robert O'Brien, Luther Snavely, and Ken Dye, as well as by the Notre Dame Alumni Band.
Newly arranged versions of the Victory March have been contributed by Notre Dame's Jazz Band and New Orleans Brass Band.
Completing this keepsake collection, the Notre Dame Band performs many of the other classic Notre Dame school songs: Hike, Notre Dame; Down the Line; When the Irish Backs Go Marching By, Damsha Bua (the Victory Clog); and the University's alma mater Notre Dame, Our Mother.
