Nestled between the new Jordan Hall of Science, Rolfs Sports and Recreation Center and the Guglielmino Family Athletics Center, the Ricci Band Rehearsal Hall, home of the Notre Dame Bands, is one of the finest music rehearsal buildings in the country. Built in 1990, the spacious facility contains three large rehearsal rooms, several sound-proof practice rooms, staff and student offices, instrument lockers, uniform and equipment storage, and a music technology lab. In addition to band rehearsals, the Band staff teaches several courses in the Ricci Band Rehearsal Hall including Instrumental Conducting, Current Jazz, and Music Through Technology.
The Main Room is the biggest of our rehearsal spaces and is home to large ensembles such as the Symphonic Band, Symphonic Winds, University Band and Varsity Bands. The room is large enough for Marching Band music rehearsals and is also equipped with stage lighting for concerts.

Lecture courses, conducting classes, and smaller ensemble rehearsals all take place in the Middle Room. It is equipped with an extensive sound and video system that makes it a prime teaching space. Within the middle room are two medium-sized practice rooms suitable for private lessons or other one-on-one teaching situations.

The Band Building has several Wenger practice rooms available for student use. These rooms range from individual-sized spaces to a large practice room with enough space for four to five musicians. All of the practice rooms are individually lit, have circulating air and are built using technology that makes them virtually sound proof.

The Music Technology Lab is the primary hands-on learning space for our Music Through Technology Class. Both Macintosh and PC machines are available for student use and are installed with the latest in music notation, sequencing and production software.

Since the Northern Indiana weather can vary widely from minute to minute, the band is very fortunate to have access to the Loftus Sports Center. Loftus is an indoor, full-size, artificial turf football field. It also contains a 1/4 mile running track and other exercise equipment. The band rehearses in Loftus during inclement weather, extreme cold, and on game-day mornings.
