A Windows 95/NT Program to Download Data from the Geoscan FM36 Gradiometer and RM15 Resistivity Meter.

The program NDdown20.exe is a Windows (verion 95 or NT) program that downloads geophysical data from the Geoscan FM36 gradiometer and RM15 resistivity meter. The program was developed for use by students in the University of Notre Dame archaeology field school and is being made available free to anyone who might like to evaluate or use it.

A compressed version of the program (NDdwn20z.exe, 1.56 Mb) can be obtained by any one of these methods:

1. Click here - nddwn20z.exe to download with your browser (works with Netscape).

3. Send two blank 3.5 inch high density diskettes and a self-addressed, stamped diskette mailer to the author.

4. Send $10 US for handling and shipping to the author (below).

To use the program, uncompress it by running it. The files will uncompress into a directory of your choice (the default is c:\nddown\).

Then run setup.exe to expand the custom controls and DLL files on your computer and to set up the program.

The uncompressed program NDDown20.EXE can be run from a file manager or under START / PROGRAMS

For more information about the program, you can see the ASCII text file readme20.txt that serves as a manual.

NEW FEATURES:

Version 2.0 has these enhancements:

This is the third generation of a trial version of the program. It runs successfully under Windows 95 and NT on several types of Pentium computres, including an IBM Thinkpad 365 portable

The program cannot use Windows multi-tasking abilities because the Geoscan instruments do not support handshaking. So what's the point? The program looks pretty and is easy to use (or at least it seems that way to me).

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT: The user assumes all risks and liabilities associated with any use of the software. If you are not willing to accept this condition, destroy your copy of the software immediately.

Send questions, reports of bugs, pleadings for enhancements, etc. to:
