Career Treks
Our MBA Career Development office partners with student clubs, introducing students to opportunities in various industry and regional sectors. Students take onsite tours of companies and meet with upper-level management and human resource representatives in specific industries or geographic regions. In recent years tour visits took our students to Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, New York,, San Francisco, and Seattle. Along with US tours, our students have various opportunities with curriculum courses to trek in different countries that will take them to Brussels, Chile, and even China. Polls are conducted to assess student interest in geographical areas and sectors. Most treks either in the US or abroad are combined alumni events to help students broaden their network.

Recruitment Opportunities
Our dedicated team partners daily with domestic and international corporate recruiters, continually growing the scope of full-time and internship opportunities for our students. During the last academic year, we represented more than 56 companies and hosted more than 280 on-campus interviews. Our office publishes daily an open job opportunity online board so students are visibly aware of the companies and industries that are recruiting. We are often a part of a company’s strategic hiring plan, as many of our corporate partners hold our program in high regard and seek Notre Dame students for strategic positions. We partner actively with employers to facilitate their access to our students. There is a rich opportunity to connect with our recruiters through frequent company presentations, job postings, résumé drops, on-campus interviewing and networking at Notre Dame football games and other events.

One-on-one Coaching
MBA Career Development has a staff of career management coaches who can apply their expertise to your individual needs. They each come from an industry background bringing the knowledge of what it takes to be hired and to progress in a career. Each coach can help you plan your next career with assistance ranging from résumé writing to practice interviewing with you and even negotiations on salary offerings. Coaches regularly read up on the industry in which they serve, meet with recruiters in that industry and attend any campus- related activities involving that industry. This specialization helps our students in gaining and accessing the most expert advice related to their field of interest. We even have coach assistance specific to international students to help train, educate and work through any US-related barriers, traditions and understandings in the job search process.

Career Development Workshops
With a small staff-to-student ratio in our workshops and training seminars, we are able to provide personalized attention to our students to help them develop the skills they need to thrive in today’s competitive job market. Through such events and programs as “Communicating with Prospective Employers” and “Business Etiquette”— as well as our career strategy seminars and résumé / cover letter writing workshops — we prime students for a successful career search.

Campus Events
Students while working with the MBA Career Development office have developed events such as a recent Marketing Symposium on campus that was industry specific. Recently hundreds of students, recruiters, faculty and staff attended a student-led marketing symposium. The day was filled with educational sessions and panels on the various aspects of marketing for the future. Students and business professionals had opportunities to meet, network, brainstorm and learn about new challenges in this sector. With a small staff-to-student ratio we were able to provide personalized attention to our students to help them develop the necessary leadership skills in undertaking, organizing and planning such events.
