Andrew
McShane is the Assistant Organist at the Basilica of the Sacred
Heart at the University of Notre Dame. In addition to serving as
Basilica Organist, he is Director of the Notre Dame Women's Choir,
Assistant Director of the Notre Dame Liturgical Choir, and a member
of the Basilica Schola.
Andrew earned
the Bachelor of Music degree in Church Music at Wayne State University
in Detroit as a student of Ray Ferguson. At the University of Notre
Dame he earned the Master of Music degree in Organ Performance and
Literature as a student of Craig Cramer and Gail Walton.
In addition
to his Basilica responsibilities, Dr. McShane is a member of the Notre
Dame Collegium Musicum and Notre Dame Schola Musicorum -- groups
which exclusively perform early vocal music. Dr. McShane also teaches
in the Diocese of Ft. Wayne-South Bend Organist Training Program.
Dr. McShane has
held positions in Livonia, Detroit and Redford, Michigan, as well
as in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, and South Bend, Indiana.
