Biography

Krupali Uplekar was born and brought up in the city of Bombay (today known as Mumbai) in India. At the age of 18 years, she first came in contact with the new classical moment, when she got a scholarship from the Prince of Wales Institute of Architecture to attend a 2 month long summer school in US. Since then her primary quest has been to understand the various international languages of architecture and design. She holds a bachelor degree in architecture from Bombay University, India. She received her Master's in Architecture from Dessau, where the Bauhaus architecture first originated.

She is completing her Ph.D. on urban-planning aspects of historical cities and transforming city cores at the Technical University Dresden, Germany. Presently she is working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Notre Dame where she teaches architectural design, historic preservation and structural design.
