The
Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Biocomplexity, University
of Notre Dame and The Biocomplexity Institute, Indiana University,Bloomington |
|
| A Workshop in Conjunction with the Notre Dame Conference on Partial Differential Equations with Applications | |
|
|
|
Organizers: Mark Alber (Notre Dame), James Glazier (IUB), Yi Jiang (LANL) |
|
| Sponsors: Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Biocomplexity, University of Notre Dame; Biocomplexity Institute, Indiana University,Bloomington; National Science Foundation; Whitaker Foundation; Los Alamos National Laboratory; The Institute for Mathematics and Its Applications (IMA); Burroughs Wellcome Fund, Center for Applied Mathematics, University of Notre Dame | |

|
| Goal
of the Workshop:
Complex biological modeling efforts include multi-scale simulations allowing
different abstractions at each scale, scalable parallelism for heterogeneous
dynamical simulations, a data-rich environment with experimentally determined
model parameters and, finally, distributed multidisciplinary research teams
and resources. The goal of this workshop is to bring together researches
in biological experiment and modeling with biology, physics, mathematics,
engineering, computer science and medical school backgrounds and applied
mathematicians working on multiscale modeling with applications to different
fields. |
