"Teaching Catholic Social Teaching" Grant--Todd David Whitmore, Director of the Program in Catholic Social Tradition and Associate Professor, Department of Theology, has been awarded a $102,966 grant for the project, "Teaching Catholic Social Teaching," from the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion. The project will facilitate the development of programs in Catholic social teaching at a dozen Catholic colleges and universities in the United States. Participants gathered for a three-day working session in the summer of 2000 to exchange and develop program plans. In the 2000-2001 academic year, they returned to their home institutions to implement the plans. They gathered again in the summer of 2001 to assess progress and to craft a white paper on the teaching of Catholic social teaching in Catholic colleges and universities to be sent to educators and ordinaries. A volume of essays will also issue from the project (more information).

This past April the Program in Catholic Social Tradition co-sponsored a conference entitled "The New New Things: Catholic Social Teaching and the 21st Century". Click here to see the Conference Program and return often to see updates concerning upcoming events.
