For Notre Dame Staff and Faculty on Corporate Time/Oracle Calendar

Are you a music lover?  Would you like to be?  Then the Department of Music is here to help!  We are initiating a convenient, free service that will place a reminder on your personal Oracle Calendar (formerly known as CorporateTime).  One simple e-mail is all it takes to subscribe.  For now, this service is only available as a pilot project for faculty and staff.  It will list all the public recitals and concerts that we sponsor in various campus venues:  Washington Hall, the Snite Museum's Annenberg Auditorium, and the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center (including the Reyes Organ and Sacred Music Hall).  The events include exciting fare like recitals by our distinguished faculty, the Collegiate Jazz Festival, the Glee Club, Orchestra, Opera, our diverse ensembles, and special events such as the visit of Pomerium, the Grammy-nominated chorale.  Then there's the popular "Bachs Lunch" concerts noontime in the DPAC.  So much music!

It works like this:  Send a note with the heading "Subscribe Oracle Music" to Jennifer Marley at jmarley1@nd.edu.  You should include your department, phone number and campus address in the body.  Nothing else is necessary.  In 10 days or less, our schedule for the remainder of the semester will appear on your calendar as "Day Events."  You won't have to do anything else.  Note that these listings will NOT appear on your hourly calendar as appointments, but rather, only as reminders.  Of course, you may discontinue the service at any time by sending an e-mail with the heading "Unsubscribe Oracle Music."

If you are not familiar with Oracle Calendar, it is the official University system for arranging meetings and maintaining your personal agenda.  It synchronizes your calendar on any computer via the Web, on your Blackberry, Palm devices, and on some mobile phones.  In order to use Oracle Calendar/CorporateTime, you must have an account created for you:   Faculty or staff may request an individual account through the OIT Help Desk (call 574-631-8111 or oithelp@nd.edu).

For further information, see: http://oit.nd.edu/services/index.shtml

If the Oracle Music Calendar is successful, we'll consider extending the offer to the entire campus.  Until then, consider yourself a charter subscriber!  Just send that e-mail today with the subject "Subscribe Oracle Music" to jmarley1@nd.edu.
