Centered at the University of California, Santa Cruz, under the general editorship of Murray Baumgarten, the Strouse Carlyle Edition calls for the publication of new editions of Carlyle's Sartor Resartus, The French Revolution, On Heroes and Hero-Worship, and Past and Present as well as the Critical and Miscellaneous Essays arranged thematically as the Historical Essays, Social and Political Essays, Essays on German Literature, and Literary Essays. Once these volumes are complete, the editors hope to proceed with further editions, such as The Life of John Sterling and Latter-Day Pamphlets. The edition is published by University of California Press.
