This is a view of our Bruker D8 Advance powder diffractometer. It utilizes the same model goniometer as our SMART APEX, but the goniometer is tipped up on end to facilitate handling of samples. In this view the X-ray source is on the left side of the goniometer and the detector is on the right. The sample stage is the platform in the center. Unlike our single-crystal instruments, where the source is stationary, the incident angle is also variable on this goniometer.
