This icon is from the homepage of a former colleague from
graduate school, Aard Louis.

This image corresponds to a theoretically calculated spectrum
of a scanning tunneling  microscope whose tip is crossing the Wigner-Seitz boundary
of the Abrikosov vortex lattice in type II superconductors with gap nodes. It was
generated with Mathematica (TM) for one of my recent papers, published in
The Physical Review Letters, volume 82, page 4703, in 1999.

This is an old postcard from my hometown, Kolozsvar.  The
postcard features the statue of  King Matyas, arguably the most prominent emperor
of Hungary, who was born in a house not far away from this monument.
