Cellular and Physiological Dynamics

Research expertise within the CPD Group ranges from the organismal level (reproductive physiology and sexually dimorphic behaviors) to the subcellular (intracellular signaling and trafficking). The faculty share the following common research themes: i) neurodegenerative diseases, ii) nutrition and cancer, iii) intracellular signaling and trafficking, iv) cytoskeleton of cells, and v) neuroscience.

Cancer
Applying in vitro and in vivo models of hormone dependent cancers, control of metastasis, cell division, and cell death.
Cellular Processes
Investigating cell motility, cell division, cell signaling, and regulation of cellular trafficking.
Neurosciences
Exploring the development and diseases of photoreceptors and retina, neuroendocrine functions in reproductive behavior.
Nutrition and Disease
Understanding vitamin and nutrient involvement in cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
Reproductive Biology
Researching the role of hormones and gene expression on reproductive function and behavior.
Physiological Ecology
Focusing on environmental physiology, organismal performance, and adaptive behaviors
