the BGSO was created by a group of graduate students and officially sanctioned by Student Activities Office in 2003. the BGSO is comprised of 12 officers, which includes a president, secretary, and treasurer. all graduate students in the Department of Biological Sciences are automatically members of the BGSO, and there are no membership fees.
as stated in our constitution:
1. to provide a forum of expression for student opinion.
2. to provide a mechanism for discussion and enactment of student decisions.
3. to provide for opportunities for social interaction among graduate students.
4. to foster social, intellectual, and institutional links with faculty.
5. to promote social, institutional, and intellectual links with graduate students in other departments.
