Graduate Student Union

here is a list of just a few other things that we've been up to ~

• invited departmental seminar speaker: Dr. David Strayer from the Institute of Ecosystem Studies, NY
• created a BGSO bulletin board right outside the department mailroom
• sponsored free bowling at Chippewa Bowl
• hosted biology department bbqs
• wrote a recommendation to the Space Committee for a departmental lounge
• recruited volunteers to help build a playground through the South Bend Rotary Club
• sponsored free tickets to a South Bend Silverhawk's game
• sponsored tailgates
• organized downhill skiing trip
• directly involved in planning graduate student recruitment weekend
• created a graduate student mentoring program
• created and sold 'department of biological sciences' t-shirts
• and of course ~ conduct monthly meetings where all grad students are welcome
